My Shakeology Journey

Hello, friends!

I have fallen in love with Shakeology.  There, I've admitted it.  I hope my wife doesn't read this and get jealous...!

But in all seriousness, I can't believe I waited so long to try this awesome product.  After taking it for a week now, I can already feel such a difference, in so many areas.  My energy is up, my cravings are WAY down, and I've lost weight (about 3 pounds, which is huge for me in just a week!!!).  And unlike so many other "health" shakes and supplements out there, it tastes sooooo good.  Seriously.

So I had an idea.  To help share my story as I move forward with Shakeology as part of my nutrition plan, I am going to keep a log of what's going on, and how it is affecting me.  I'll try to update this on a regular basis; I'm even going to try to post regular photos to show my progress in the weight department.  Which is huge for me, because I've always been kind of self-conscious about my body (I'm really opening up here, people!!!).  I've just never been proud of how I looked... but lately, thanks to my workout regimen and nutrition plan, that's slowly starting to change. 

I really hope that my journey inspires many of you to at least give it a try, especially if you are someone who is wishing for a way to lose weight, but just doesn't know how to start.  But with all of the other great health benefits that come with this stuff, it is worth checking out even if your goal isn't weight loss.  Go find out more here:  Shakeology

Just FYI: my wife and I are currently drinking the chocolate version, but our first bag of greenberry is due to arrive in the next few days.  I'll share my thoughts/feedback on the two a bit more specifically when I've had a chance to try them both out! 

With the chocolate, we're staying fairly simple: we're using it as a meal-replacement in the morning.  In addition to the Shakeology powder, I'm usually adding a tablespoon of Dark Chocolate All Natural Peanut Butter for some extra protein (unbelievably delicious, and adds some extra dark chocolate taste; I buy a brand called "Peanut Butter and Co., sold at Wal-Mart.  It comes in lots of flavors), and a fruit of some kind (bananas, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc).  A 1/2 cup of milk, some water, and some ice... blend it up, and you're done.  There are tons of recipes included when you order it, but I'm having fun just trying different combos.  And the stuff tastes great without anything else added... I'm just adding things to help bump up my calorie intake a bit, so that it fits my needs for my current nutrition plan.

So that's it for now!  I'll try to keep this thing updated about every week or so, as I continue to use Shakeology.  I'll post my "before" pic soon, which I took right when I started taking it... that way you can have a reference point as I move forward.
